Tampering with drugs ORC § 2925.24

Defined:
  • Knowingly,
  • Altering any dangerous drug or substituting any dangerous drug with another substance, or
  • Changing the packaging the dangerous drug is in.
Defense:

Tampering with drugs not illegal if the drug was prescribed by a doctor.

Potential Penalties:

Tampering with drugs can be either a felony of the third degree or a felony of the second degree. As such, tampering with drugs can be penalized by 9 months to 8 years in prison and a fine of up to $15,000.
