OVI Checkpoint in Columbus – May 2023

On May 5, 2023, Cinco De Mayo, the Franklin County DUI Task Force Conducted and OVI Checkpoint at Hamilton Road and Harbor Boulevard on the South-East side of Columbus, near Blacklick Estates.  In total 71 vehicles were checked for impaired drivers.  Of the 71 checked at the Franklin County Checkpoint only one person was arrested for Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence.  Three people who were stopped were arrested for having open felony warrants and six were arrested for having active misdemeanor warrants.  15 citations were issued for license related offenses like, failure to register, driving under suspension, or operating a motor vehicle without a valid license.
